1. What you are buying
A perpetual, non-exclusive license to install and use Kixlogic Hero (“the add-in”) for the number of seats stated on your license key. A seat is one person. The license does not expire and there is no renewal.
2. Free trial
The add-in runs in full for 90 days from first use on a computer, without a key, an account or a payment method. When the trial ends, the add-in continues to open and everything it has already written into your workbooks remains readable and editable in Excel; running a check or a utility requires a license key.
3. Certificates, Install IDs and seat keys
A purchase gives you a certificate naming the licensee and the number of seats. Each computer running the add-in shows an Install ID. On our activation page you exchange the certificate and an Install ID for a seat key bound to that computer; the add-in verifies the key on that computer against a public key built into the software and accepts no key bound elsewhere. One seat key is issued per Install ID, up to the seats you bought; you may release an Install ID to move its seat to another computer. The add-in itself makes no connection to Kixlogic or anyone else to verify, activate or run. The licensee’s name appears on every audit memo. You may not share seat keys or the certificate beyond the licensed seats or publish them.
4. What the add-in does with your data
Nothing leaves your computer. The add-in reads the workbook open in Excel and writes only into that workbook. It makes no network requests of any kind while it runs: no upload, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no analytics, no AI model. The only files it ever loads are its own static files from the address it is installed from, and a firm may host those files on its own intranet instead. This is a property of the code, and the build includes a test that fails if any network call is introduced.
5. What Kixlogic keeps
When you buy, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card and gives us your name, email address and the licensee name you entered. We keep those, the key we issued and the purchase record, so that we can show you your key again and support you. We do not sell or share them. We never receive any workbook or any data from the add-in.
6. Refunds
The 90-day free trial is the time to decide: it is the full product, with no card and no account, and nobody should buy before it has proved itself. Purchases are therefore final, with one exception: a mistaken purchase — the same license bought twice, or the wrong seat pack — is refunded on request within 7 days of the charge. Email [email protected] with your receipt; a refunded key is cancelled for future versions, and everything already written into your workbooks stays yours.
7. Updates
Updates to the add-in within the version you bought are included and arrive automatically from the address it is installed from. A future major version may be a separate purchase; we will say so plainly if that happens, and your key will keep working with the version you bought.
8. Fitness and responsibility
The add-in performs deterministic checks and reports what it finds; it does not audit, certify or replace professional judgement. Every finding names the rule that produced it so that a reviewer can re-perform it. Kixlogic is not liable for decisions made on the basis of its output. Where the law permits, the add-in is provided as is, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it.
